The US Department of Commerce has extended export restrictions for Utair and Azur Air

The US Department of Commerce has extended export restrictions on Russian airlines Utair and Azur Air for 180 days.

The corresponding document was published on Monday, April 3, in the official journal of the US Federal Government.

“I grant the request of the Export Administration for the enforcement of a temporary waiver issued on this issue on October 3, 2022,” Utair said in a document signed by Assistant Secretary of Commerce Matthew Axelrod.

According to him, the extension of this order is necessary in the public interest to prevent the inevitable violation of regulatory documents. The same resolution was issued against Azur Air.

In April last year, the US Department of Commerce imposed export sanctions against Russian airlines Aeroflot, Utair and Azur Air. According to the document, they were deprived of their rights to participate in transactions subject to export regulation.

Western countries have increased sanctions pressure on Moscow against the background of a special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022.
